Intro to Flooding 101 Forum

Since Hurricane Harvey I have attended several forums and workshops regarding our flood problems in Houston. Unfortunately, with the complicated power points, hard to read maps, and complex explanations, I have noticed many people leave more confused than when they arrived.

I decided to co-host a flood forum where it will be audience driven with the leading experts on the subject from both the city and the county. Our goal is to keep it simple. Why does it flood, what are the different types of floods, what have we done to mitigate risk, what will we do, how is it funded, etc. I will continue to create events such as this for the public to have a voice and have an opportunity to address leadership with their issues and concerns.
